Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates!

What I’m about to tell you, is a Sufi saying.

I just love Sufism, goes to the point, and shows you what the point really is.

“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates:

  • At the first gate, ask yourself, ‘Is it true?’
  • At the second gate ask, ‘Is it necessary?’
  • At the third gate ask, ‘Is it kind?'” – Sufi saying

Sometimes we forget to say true words. We hurt other people.

Sometimes we forget that our words might not be necessary. They go to waste. They are a waste of your voice. You talk too long, and too much. Hear the other person first, then speak.

Are your words Kind? Will they help in any way? Are they creation words or destruction words? Will they give the other person energy, love, something? If not…please don’t speak them.

The words I´m practicing are:

I´m sorry.

Please forgive me.

Thank You.

I love You.

Yes! They belong to the Ho’oponopono.

What kind of words are you saying? Let me know in the comments!
